Stableford is a golf scoring system that rewards points for scores on each hole instead of counting total strokes. The goal is to score the most points, rather than having the lowest total strokes. This format encourages aggressive play because bad holes don’t ruin an entire round.
Basic Rules
- Each hole is worth a set number of points based on your score relative to par.
- The better you score, the more points you earn.
- The player with the highest total points at the end of the round wins.
- Commonly used for both casual and tournament play, and often includes handicap adjustments.
Points granted are configurable by the user, the default values are:
Bogey + | 0 points |
Bogey | 1 point |
Par | 2 point |
Birdie | 3 point |
Eagle | 4 point |
Eagle – | 5 point |
