How to play Wolf
Wolf is a fun and strategic golf betting game played in groups of four. It involves rotating roles, risk-reward decision-making, and strategic alliances during each hole. The objective is to earn the most points by choosing whether to play solo or as part of a team.
Basic Rules
- Played in foursomes (4 players).
- Players rotate being the “Wolf” on each hole.
- The Wolf chooses to play solo or with a partner.
- Points are awarded based on who wins the hole.
How to Play
1. Decide Order of Play
- Players take turns being the Wolf. The order is usually determined randomly before the round.
- The Wolf rotates every hole (e.g., Player 1 is Wolf on Hole 1, Player 2 on Hole 2, and so on).
- On a par-3 or short par-4, the Wolf can be decided after tee shots are taken.
2. Tee Shots & Wolf’s Choice
- The first player tees off, followed by the others.
- After each tee shot, the Wolf must decide immediately whether to pick that player as their teammate.
- The Wolf can wait until all players have teed off to decide, but if they do, they must go solo (Lone Wolf).
3. Team Play or Lone Wolf?
- If the Wolf chooses a partner, it’s 2 vs. 2 for that hole.
- If the Wolf goes solo (Lone Wolf), they play 1 vs. 3.
4. Scoring & Points System
- Wolf & Partner Win → They each get 2 points.
- Non-Wolf Team Wins → They each get 3 points.
- Lone Wolf Wins → The Wolf gets 4 points.
- Lone Wolf Loses → The other three players get 1 point each.
Additional Variations
Blind Wolf: The Wolf decides to go solo before anyone tees off, and if they win, they get double points.
